The HEST/F was developed as the direct folding version of the HEST Original fixed blade knife and was dubbed the 2.0 because there were a number of significant modifications made to the original design of this brutal use folder. The goal was to increase strength without adding weight and to directly address concerns about ease of opening, strength of lockup and usability.

Bought a hest 2.0 at the 2016 blade show from Robert & I love it!Review by Mark
Bought a hest 2.0 at the 2016 blade show from Robert & I love it! He also signed the g-10 scale for me! Best folding knife I have ever owned ! (Posted on 6/6/2016)
Great knife - Great value Review by Peter
I'm very impressed with this knife. The fit and finish are excellent. It is razor sharp out of the box. I own several high quality folders and this knife compares well with knives that cost more than twice as much. It will be my EDC. (Posted on 7/8/2015)
Exemplary Evolutionary Engineering of Excellent OriginalReview by Rift
This masterpiece of transforming an exemplary example of engineering originality first demonstrated by the Rat production tactical "Hostile Environment Survival Tool" with the functional augmentation of the plain fixed blade into a multifunctional tool for the international traveler who intends to travel off the map to places where tourists don't dare. This new best made of Italian Ironsteel is manufactured in Italy for H.E.S.T. If a folder can exceed a fixed blade in structural strength combined with ingenuity that provides functional variability gonzo travelers can put to practical use, then Robert Y. Peloton at DPx Gear has engineered just that. Peloton and Co. hasn't just retro-engineered a folder designed from the original HEST fixed blade, he has contributed to the progressive realization via innovative, superior design, materials, and manufacture of a literally near indestructible, beautiful, bad-ass blade that won't fail your needs when you're in a clinch behind friendly lines. Read carefully about went into number two. I'm not gonna go into the insane punishment no knife should have to go through and come through perfectly intact, save a superficial scratch here and there. Now the H.E.S.T. 2.0 goes wherever I go. I'm in the Philippines now, finishing this review. You can't go wrong with this knife, if it fits your needs from whatever you've read here and there, don't hesitate: get this knife. It'll exceed your needs guaranteed. (Posted on 7/5/2015)
